When most people think of advertising, they think of Madison Avenue. But Margaret went a different direction, and started her writing career in Boston where she worked at HBM/McDonald. A small agency with strong creative roots, Margaret learned her craft working on brands that included Tom’s of Maine and New England Subaru Dealers.
After a few years, she returned to New York, her hometown, and worked at a number of different agencies, including a long stint at McCann-Erickson, where she and her partner, Felix Burgos, came up with the “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter” campaign that went on to launch a second career for Fabio.
Her resume also includes Coca-Cola, General Motors, Lotus automobiles, Parker Pens, Splenda, Smith Barney, and many other well-known brands.
She is currently a senior copywriter at George Mason University.
